David Souter to retire from Supreme Court. Information reported by NPR. Justice Souter will retire at the end of the court's current term. Souter has not yet given his reasons for leaving the court.
Souter assumed office in 1990 after being appointed by George HW Bush.
Souter will stay on court until a replacement is confirmed.
