Alaska has a big week coming up with three big showdowns between the legislature and the governor.
#1 To take the money (or not)
#2 To appoint Juneau's selection for Juneau's vacant Senate seat (or not)
#3 To confirm W.A.R. for Attorney General (or not)
#1 To take the money or not. Certification letter accepting the funds sent to President Obama on March 31, 2009 is typical Palin word salad and is a veritable gourmet delight for Palin conservatives. Certification letter rumored to have been sent April 2 has not yet reached the light of day. So much for the transparency and ethics in government. Certification letter March 31, 2009:

#2 To support Juneau's selection for the Democratic replacement for Senator Kim Elton's seat, as Senator Kim Elton from Juneau resigned to served as Ken Salazar's liason for Alaska Interior Department lands issues. Nine Democratic Senators must approve (or not) Palin's appointment. Juneau wants Rep. Beth Kerttula, House Minority Leader.
Palin ignored Kerttula and first tried appointing Ben Grussendorf (who remembered to change his voter registration from R to D merely a few weeks ago). Democratic legislators met behind closed doors then reported to Palin they were not inclined to approve this appointment. Mudflats latest on this:

#3 To confirm (or not) W.A.R--that would be Wayne Anthony Ross--gun toting, NRA touting, camo-Hummer with license plate reading W.A.R driving big loud guy.

Only the 9 Senate Democrats are allowed to vote on Elton's replacement, though Palin is trying to change those rules.
Senate is currently 10 Republicans, 9 Democrats.
House is predominantly Republicans, but with some excellent Democratic legislators.
Citizens of Alaska:
#1 Want the money
#2 Want Juneau to pick Juneau's Senate seat
#3 Are skeptical (to put it mildly) about W.A.R.
Grab the popcorn.
Place your bets.
