On Friday, Glenn Beck said that there was a list of people kept by someone for something (video as presented by Jed L. on the front page): Link
So Glenn Beck says there is a list: well, I’ve got a little list too!
(with apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan)
The Mikado, Act I – circa May, 2009
As Someday it May Happen:
Ko-Ko (The Lord High Executioner):
As some day it may happen that a victim must be found,
I've got a little list — I've got a little list
Of society offenders who might well be underground,
And who never would be missed — who never would be missed!
There's the pestilential nuisances like Bill Orally and Dobbs' crap —
All people like that flabby Rush and his irritating gaffes —
All goopers who are up in quotes, and floor you with 'em flat —
John McCain who in shaking hands, shakes hands with you like that —
And all the press persons who on spoiling conferences insist —
They'd none of 'em be missed — they'd none of 'em be missed!
There’s the sickening Manatee, and the others with his case,
And the Fox false-journalists — I've got them on the list!
And the people who like Palin and her pretty little face,
They never would be missed — they never would be missed!
Then George Will who praises, with enthusiastic tone,
All spending plans but this, and every President but ‘that one’;
And the lady who writes books, but whose throat looks like a guy,
And who doesn't think she’s racist, but would rather like to try;
And that singular anomaly, the Cheney torture-ist —
I don't think he'd be missed — I'm sure he'd not be missed!
And that Al Gonzalez nuisance, who just caused us so much strife,
The Judicial humorist — I've got him on the list!
All bank CEO’s, repug pols, and clowns like Glenn Beck-right!?
They'd none of 'em be missed — they'd none of 'em be missed.
And apologetic statesmen of a compromising kind,
Such as — LIE-bermann — Specter, Nelson, and likewise — Never-mind,
And W. Bush— and What's-his-name, and also You-know-who —
The task of filling up the blanks I'd rather leave to you.
But it really doesn't matter whom you put upon the list,
For they'd none of 'em be missed — they'd none of 'em be missed!
You may put 'em on the list — you may put 'em on the list;
And they'll none of 'em be missed — they'll none of 'em be missed!
And to those who might take this too seriously: Look at the tags, Gilbert and Sullivan were humorists, it's a comic operetta, and here's the tune (just quit after 2:30; it gets weird!):
So who'd you put on the list?
