Seriously, this is hysterical. It's like everything they do, they screw up. Are they even trying? Do they even check? From "teabagging" to "2MFM" to Eric Cantor's "listening" tour...I've never seen so many buffoons make so many mistakes.
And the latest...
The "ObamaCard", meant to be a parody of a credit card showing all the debt Obama will accrue from the stimulus.
And credit cards have an expiration date.
What do you think is the expiration date of Obama's first term? There are a couple of reasonable choices: November 2012 - the date of the general election. January 2013 - the date of the inauguration.
But what did our friends the error-prone Republicans choose?
January 2012.
Know what's happening then? It's the START of the primary/caucus season. Not the end date of his term.
Now, I admit it's a clever concept - the use of two Obama logos to imitate a MasterCard symbol, the line "pre-paid by the taxpayers" and even the whole concept of the card. But, isn't spoofing MasterCard commercials a bit played out? And if you're going to do it, it would be nice to, you know, get it right.
Here's Talking Points Memo on the card:
A new Web promotion by the Republican National Committee, the "ObamaCard" -- parodying the national debt built up by the stimulus bill -- seems to be a bit confused about exactly when a presidential term ends
So how long until this comes down? How many interns will get blamed? How much discussion and counting-on-fingers will there be before whoever created this parody agrees that the date is wrong?
