Not a political diary, but one very near and dear to my heart.
Today at 2:30 EDT will be the UEFA Champions League Final between Manchester United (ENG) and Barcelona FC (SPA) for the title of Europe's best professional soccer team.
If you think this is just another soccer game in Europe, then take the afternoon off and head down to a sports bar. The ratings in recent years have rivaled NFL broadcasts, and many bars risk fire code citations from crowds watching the game.
In 10 short years, the CL Final has gone from non-mention to a major sports story and a legitimate half-day of work for millions (yes, millions) of Americans.
And I, every year, take the Badger Cubs out of school for the day. We'll be having a couple (non-alcoholic) and shouting at the screen. Join us.
