This diary will not be long, but I do hope that it will get some people to start to think and hopefully make some plans.....
Meat of this short diary after the fold.
To start with I am a nurse, and what made me work my ass off for our new President, was his health care plan and his promise, "that the people would have a seat at the table when health care and the NEW construction of a health care plan was in the makings".
Well, the organization of health care professionals that want single payer
health care were prohibited from a seat at that table, and one was even arrested.
Like I said I am a nurse and I see, as well as take care of MANY
patients with out health care coverage. This weighs heavily on my heart. I have health care, but I am restricted to whom I go to and what hospitals I use. This leaves a person with NO choices, unless you want to end up paying a lot more.
I am mad that Senator Max Baucus is sitting down with lobbyist from the insurance and drug companies to draft a health care plan. As well as filling his pockets with money. This is NOT acceptable... What's even worse, our new President is sitting fucking quietly, somewhere letting this shit go on. I am pissed!
This morning I called the W.H. and aired by complaints and then called Baucus's office and did the same. With both calls I did not feel like my concerns was taken seriously, by the way, no profane language came out of my mouth when talking to their people. Then, I came here to the Kos, and I read a diary by Buhdyharma, and it appeared that Buhdy was just as pissed as me. So I feel that it is not just me but also others that are getting frustrated with broken promises.
So what should we do now? I suggest that, "We the people of this Nation that want single payer health care" have a Nation wide protest before these assholes in Congress either do something with health care that is NOT acceptable. Or they take off for the summer.
We have to raise our voices. If the Tea baggers can do it on such a bullshit topic. Then I think we can do it on an issue &(issues) that matter to us.
