So I wrote a diary yesterday entitled, Palestinians Turned Down Great Olmert Offer for Statehood , recounting a conversation Washington Post writer Jackson Diehl had with Abbas regarding the fact that Olmert offered 97% of the WB in a final peace deal. No sooner was the diary 5 minutes old than yelps of Diehl being a neocon splattered the thread, with uprates galore. But ain't it funny that Diehl has a history replete with plenty of criticism of Israel as noted here.
Last Friday, Jackson Diehl of the Washington Post published an account of his conversation with Palestinian President Abbas when the latter was in Washington to meet President Obama.
Diehl has a long record of columns presenting plenty of conventional criticisms of Israel and cannot be said to be mouthpiece for the Jewish state.

So, it was all the more startling when this columnist revealed Mr. Abbas intention to do "nothing" in support of the peace process, until, Abbas believes, the Obama Administration forces Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to implement a total settlement freeze, plunge into negotiations for a two state solution or, as Abbas' top advisers state they expect, is force out of office by American pressure.
link to Diehl's columns: See for yourselves, there are several near the top.

Really?
no, I'm basing it on a column written by a writer known for his criticisms of Israel, that's why Abbas met with him. Wouldn't it be idiotic for Abbas to meet with a reporter known to be hostile to Palestinians.

Let me see...
Diehl has a LOOONNNGG history for being pro-Israel?
WaPo has a record for letting nuts like Kristol post controversial op eds to sell newspapers?
I've already answered the fallacious first part of that post , but note the use of Kristol to smear and label Diehl. Guilt by association. More rightwing tactics employed by pro P mobs!
this same poster suggested I read some of Diehl's past work , so I did! Hence this diary, thanks for the suggestion!
Back it up?
I suggest you read Diehl's past works
Blither blather.
Who the fuck are you people? You know the ones I mean. Not the reasonable thinking people who weigh facts and evidence carefully, but the screamers, yelpers and blowhards who flock into a diary merely to spout lies ,falsehoods and distortions in order to obfuscate the information presented. One poster questioned whether the meeting had even taken place! It's simply bullshit, total propagandistic LGF behavior. Mob mentality. Bluster and mendacity! What a bunch of goddamn frauds! Many Palestinians would cringe to know that some of you claim to speak for them here, IMO.
)
But anyone who came into that diary claiming Diehl is some kind of neo-con Zionist sympathiser is either a moron or a goddamn liar. period.
Now let's see some of you blowhards and upraters show up here and admit you had no fuckin clue about what you were talking about.
come on chumps.
And meanwhile, don't forget Abbas turned down an offer for 97% of the West Bank!
Holy Shit!
