Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Sylar, and this is my first diary at the Kos after visiting here for a little over a year. So please, go easy on me! Now that that's out of the way, let's go below the fold to get down to some seriously chilling (to me, at least) stuff from my local news.
I ran across a story on my local Charleston, WV NBC affiliate's website this evening that, in the wake of the tragic events of the last couple of weeks, made my blood run cold. It seems a man going by the name of Jonathan Adams has called the local police over 100 times, for a couple of weeks now, threatening to kill his neighbors and any cops that show up to arrest/question him. Apparently the calls are made up to 10 times a day. In these calls, he has told the dispatcher that he had guns aimed at officers that were responding to his calls of fake drug busts or robberies. He also told them that he had dead bodies and that he shot a child.
Last night, after tracing the calls to a pre-paid mobile, the local police, swat team, and bomb squad were dispatched to the residence of this Jonathan Adams to check things out. Why the swat team and bomb squad, you ask? Well, it just so happens that this guy has a previous conviction for having "illegal explosive devices". It turns out that there was nobody home, so the search is on for this nut. What worries me is the guy says in the 911 calls (which were made available at the link above) that he's more or less armed to the teeth, and he can't wait to shoot some cops. Or anyone else, for that matter. It's difficult to discern a motive for his murderous plan from the rantings on the 911 recordings...at least until more information is made available. One thing is certain though. With a previous conviction for illegal explosives, it's clear that this man is extremely dangerous.
I'm so, so tired of this, my fellow Kossacks. The violence, the hate...and it's just getting worse. And now it's in my hometown. I live less than 3 miles from where this guy is apparently living. And now nobody knows where he is, or how well armed he is at the moment. I hope the authorities catch up to him before he can do something truly evil, but I fear he might just be the next Scott Roeder, or James von Brunn. I can feel, deep down in the pit of my stomach, that all of this is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better. And frankly, it scares the shit out of me and makes me angry enough to spit fire, all at the same time.
Wherever you are tonight, stay safe people. These evil, evil people are everywhere it seems. And they're not going to just go quietly into the night.
UPDATE: Apparently, after his home was raided, he called 911 again, this time from another phone in Ohio. After they asked him to turn himself in, he hung up on them. It seems he's taunting law enforcement, which means he's either crazy, stupid, or thinks he's invincible. Maybe all three.
UPDATE 2: Just because it never hurts to get out this kind of info, if you see Adams, call 9-1-1 immediately, or call Charleston, WV Police at (304)348-6829.
