Well 9 trillion dollars later, CEOs having their way, big buisnesses getting bailed out without any accountability, the HMO's writing the new health care plans, 2 wars (a third on the way with North Korea), Guantanamo is still open, nobody from the Bush Administration is being held accountable, and the Democrats constantly caving to special interests. I'm sure I have missed several other points that could fill my introduction and if I did, please list them in the comment section.
This is not the change I voted for. Everybody jumped onto the "Hope" express only to end up feeling used by the Democrats. I am one of those people who feel taken advantage of. It may be way early but I don't like what I'm seeing. For the record, I donated at least $1,000 to Obama and the Democrats in hope for real reform and real change.
I'm beginning to get that feeling in my stomach again, the feeling I had when Bush and the Republicans ruled everything.
It appears to be business as usual as the Republicrats "hem and haw" about ways to dupe the American taxpayer into drinking their Kool Aid. I truely think Obama wants to do what is best for the country but has hit a wall and has decided to play Mr. nice guy as he cannot muster up any support from his own Congress people who are beholden to the special interests.
HOWEVER, I DON'T CARE!!!
I'm tired of excuses, I'm tired of talk, I'm tired of inaction, I'm tired and have decided that if Obama is not going to take a book out of the FDR playbook and hold some Democrat's feet to the fire. The next logical solution for me is to either divorce myself from politics (which is unlikely) or change my party's affiliation to an offical "Independent" in hopes that if enough of us do this, it will raise eyebrows and force change. It may also create a reasonable third party if enough of us get sick of the rhetoric.
I do have to agree with many of the critics in the media. Obama's policies (especially his foreign policies) don't appear any different to me than George Bush's.
If you feel this way encourage everyone you know to switch to Independents. You still will have the choice to vote for Democrats who serve the interest of the people. We have to begin to send a message to all the Democrats who think they own our vote!!!!
That's the change you can beleive in!!!
P.S. If you have Congress people falling in line for real change, put some pressure on them to talk to Democratic sell outs. If enough of us force the issue, they will listen.
