Short diary. Rule-breaker in fact, but getting flamed on Kos is the least of my problems.
Can anyone guess who "indigo X" is?
My son has been diagnosed with a condition for which he has been prescribed a $very$ $$expensive$$ medication.
There's no generic for at least another 5 years.
One tablet is so small that I can't feel the weight of it in my hand.
For this I will be charged around $300/month. (OK, cue the tiny violins).
Add to this my employer - publicly listed, household name - is in the middle of a slump thanks to the financial clusterfuck the Wall St genii (geniuses?) made, and I'm counting the days down until I'm laid off.
If that happens I'll start circling the drain with COBRA payments on top of over $500/month medication costs (yeah - I know, tiny violins; there are people who have it much worse, but somehow when you can hear the sucking sound of the drain you're circling you think about yourself and your own family.)
Then the loans against 401K start, the 401K melts away (whatever it's worth after it's been drained of life by the mini-Madoffs out there), and hey presto - indigent at retirement.
I'll play my own tiny-violin concerto tonight.
Obama, Reid, etc.? You listening? For-profit healthcare & big-pharma are about to claim another one.
