Senator Ben Nelson (WTFK-NE) is "troubled":
The Omaha World-Herald reports that Nelson -- arguably the most conservative Dem in the upper chamber -- is joining the pack of R's taking issue with Sotomayor's "wise Latina" remark:
"What I want to do is have her explain to me what she meant by that and give her an opportunity to satisfy me that she doesn't intend to take an agenda to the bench,’ Nelson said. He said he's never had a litmus test for judges, including those he appointed as Nebraska's governor. ‘My true test is whether . . . they want to be a legislator or a judge, and if I think they want to be a legislator then I'm not going to be supportive,’ he said.”
Here's a suggestion, Ben. Reading the damn speech and study her record. That would be much more helpful than regurgitating Republican talking points.
