Oh, forget poetry, one must be explicit, we are looking for George Walker Bush, to ask him about events in Thailand during his presidency, in which agreements were made with Thaksin Shinawatra, the Prime Minister of Thailand. Thaksin promised 400 Thai troops for the mess in Iraq, the invasion was to start on the first of February, 2003. The discussions with Mr. Bush were in January or earlier. Thailand would receive Non Nato Ally Status as a result of their assistance and use of air and military bases and secret prisons of course. We want to talk to this man because......
immediately on Feb 1, 2003 the Ground Invasion began in Iraq and the Drug War Killing Everyone chapter began in Thailand. Police had been told to draw up lists or loose their funding. Then they were told to get rid of everyone on that list up to at least 75% or also loose their funding. The Thai Police attacked this job with a vengence found no less aggressive than if you told the high school sports team to clear the lot of new Corvettes, here are the keys. The killings were particularly brutal. If you don't know the kind of reports we filed with the US Consulate under Consul Eric Rubin then look here to refresh your memory. http://www.akha.org/...
I personally knew many of these Akha, I personally helped bury many of them. They were my friends, they were part of a group of people called the Akha who are collectively my friends, people who live in a region as big as western Oregon, to whom I would go free of charge to any village upon request, within 4 hours of that request. 7 days a week, day or night, for years on end.
The Akha and many other people in Thailand were slaughtered. There is no other way in which to describe the way in which they were killed. The response of the US Consul Eric Rubin was muted at very best. I accused the DEA for their role, I printed a book on the subject, the first and second Akha Journal actually, two books, which you can download here:
Akha Journal One and Two http://www.akha.org/...
The US Embassy and Consul were gutless, they were supplied with the photos and documentation, weekly reports, they did nothing.
Do a search of Task Force 399. This task force was a joint US military effort at Mae Rim, Thailand, just outside of Chiangmai. The DEA in Thailand had long been supplying the Thais with telephone surveillance, sniper rifles, night vision equipment. The vetting of Thai forces involved in Human Rights Offenses was non existent, and still does not function. People were killed without trial. Police and army have long forced the hill tribe to ferry drugs, this is not a sole hill tribe bussiness. I repeatedly watched Thai army and police involvement in the drug trade, always a handy hill tribe scape goat. Many hilltribe were executed when anything backfired like the Army catching the police running drugs. Suddenly the drug runners identities are not so clear.
The Drug War in Thailand was closely tied to US policy and US assistance in Thailand, I personally gave a copy of the second Akha Journal, accusing the DEA, to the Gate Officer of the DEA office in Chiangmai, Thailand. They were not amused.
Bill Young, of the Young Missionary Dynasty in Burma and Laos, was himself a massive drug runner from Luang Namtha, Laos during the war, something he hates to be reminded of by statements on our website http://www.akha.org
So Americans can run drugs but hill tribe are murdered for it off hand.
Americans seem to have forgotten what freedom from Tyrants is.
But all that aside, I seriously doubt that George W. Bush knows that carloads of Akha and other hill tribe were stopped on abandoned roads, in tiny curves of the road where they had to slow way down to five miles an hour to make the curve and shift gears, and at these places gunmen in black uniforms stopped them and proceeded to immediately shoot them all to death.
I would like to inform him of this fact. I would like to know that he knows what happened as a result of his policy and his drug war. I would like to know that George W. Bush knows who the Akha are, that they are important and that someone took the time to inform him of this fact.
Because it matters.
I am not riding across Texas by accident.
It is my duty to inform George Walker Bush of what happened to the Akha on his watch with his budy Thaksin Shiniwatra.
Thanks for the address. This is our destiny. If he cares to know is his own matter. We will have done our part by telling him the story.
