Gay Rights Activists and Senators have lately decided that to try to get their laws passed instead of a full committee, have decided to push their laws as amendments into appropriations bills. Okay, we're fine so far, but the specific bill which everyone is putting their amendments in is the Defense....Appropriation...Bill.
Yes, the very same bill that Obama is THREATENING TO VETO over the F-22s that are in there.
Obama repeats Veto Threat TODAY over F-22s
There appears to be a coming battle on these issues with Gay Rights Activists slowly siding with F-22 defenders against Obama's threatened veto of the entire appropriations bill.
See for example today, Patrick Leahy is going to add the Hate Crimes Bill as an amendment into the defense appropriation bill.

Now, in addition to this, as if Gay Rights activists hopes aren't already high in terms of passage, but Kirsten Gillibrand is contemplating adding an additional 18 months stop loss to DADT amendment to this same appropriation bill.
Gillibrand and DADT
Can you say MASSIVE CONFLICT?
Look, I doubt that Obama has any problem with these amendments being added in there normally without the F-22 threat in there. The problem is the F-22 threat in there. This is one of the very few bills that Obama has threatened to veto and I can't imagine why democrats would feel the need to make that decision even tougher, by placing gay rights amendments in there.
They could have chosen a different bill to place their amendments in there, but regardless, what's done is done. One of two things is going to happen, either Obama's going to back down from his veto threat in the face of these amendments and making himself look like a loser by not vetoing the F-22s, or Obama is going to veto the bill and Gay Rights activists are going to get mad at both Obama and the democrats in general.
All I have to say is that Democrats better PRAY that McCain and Levin kick the planes out of there, because if they are in there, that could be problematic for everyone because let's be honest, this is a Kirsten Gillibrand move to prevent Maloney from gaining votes in the primary. It's a good move and one to be admired, but not like this.
