A political action committee formed by James Dobson's fundamentalist Christian group, Focus on the Family, has donated at least $31,000 to Stand for Marriage Maine, the lead group behind efforts to repeal LD 1020, the law that will allow same-sex couples to marry in Maine.
The group, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, formed the PAC, called Focus on the Family Maine Marriage Committee, on 18 June 2009, and lists www.focusonthefamily.com on its registration from.
On its Quarterly Filing for July (Schedule B, Expenditures - pdf warning), listed are two donations to Stand for Marriage Maine: one of $10,000 on 18 June 2009 (the day the Focus PAC was created), and the other of $21,000 on 3 July.

Based on the other expenditures listed, it appears the Focus on the Family PAC has also sent some direct mailings in regards to the veto effort, although it cannot be determined where these mailings were sent.
