More after the fold...
From MSNBC
WASHINGTON - The American soldier who went missing June 30 from his base in eastern Afghanistan and was later confirmed captured, appeared on a video posted Saturday to a Web site by the Taliban, two U.S. defense officials confirmed.
The soldier is shown in the 28-minute video with his head shaved and the start of a beard. He is sitting and dressed in a nondescript, gray outfit. Early in the video one of his captors holds the soldier's dog tag up to the camera. His name and ID number are clearly visible. He is shown eating at one point and sitting on a bed.
In the video the man gives his personal information and describes the war in Afganistan as being "hard" and he indicated a desire to learn more about Islam. The article describes the solider as being emotion while talking about his family and the girlfriend he wishes to marry.
I have not seen a copy of this video, and I have not searched for a link to the video. The article seems to indicate the this individual's family may not have been notified yet, so his name has not been released.
Let us hope for this man's safe release as soon as possible.
