I've been in a funky mood most of the day, trying to figure out if I should give in to the despair of realizing that Harry Reid and the Senate are going to leave DC for August recess without movement on health care. Our own sense and Republican talking points suggest that this is tantamount to the death of reform. I can only imagine that it is.
However, I note that however this things gets done, we need to keep firing on all cylinders. THE FIGHT IS NOT DONE. Until it's done, we need to keep fighting.
I've been so impressed by the fighting spirit of our heroes Slinkerwink, NYCeve and others. And so many of you.
I feel your pain when you imagine the death of reform, a death that seems likely given what we know about the forces that are up against this.
WE ARE NOT DONE!
Does the following activity offer hope? I'd like to think so, but I'm not sure:
House Democrats, still searching for a way to pass their healthcare bill before August, are considering bypassing the Energy and Commerce committee altogether, where the bill has stalled, and proceeding right to the floor.

And because I am not sure, I've realized that I am not sure about a lot. I am not sure about everything that's going on behind closed doors. I am not sure that there aren't efforts afoot to delay the vacation still.
WHAT I DO KNOW IS THE FOLLOWING:
- They want us to give up and stop fighting.
- They want to stifle the opinions of the vast majority of Americans that are for a public option.
- They want to hand Obama and the Dems a defeat so that they can pile on more defeats.
NOW IS THE TIME FOR US TO FIGHT, even when we don't have anything. We've got to keep going.

FIGHT. GET OUT OF YOUR FUNK!
On another note, does anyone know how we can get the following rev'ved up:
- PHONE BANKING (We've got to outpace their numbers with the phone calling). This is a must.
