For those of you who are wondering what ENDA is, it is the Employment Non-Discrimination Act of 2009, HR 3017, that would prohibit job discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Wikipedia has a more thorough explanation.
This series is designed to give information about legislators who are undecided about ENDA, and need some education about it. Please contact them and ask them to support ENDA.
According to Wikipedia, Rep. Boucher is a very popular legislator serving his 14th term since 1982. He ran unopposed in 2008. Congress.org says he's the 10th most powerful legislator in Congress, and he's also an assistant whip, which means that he is important to getting the legislative vote out for legislation such as ENDA.
He voted yes on hate crimes in 07 and 09, and voted yes on ENDA in 07. He hasn't yet taken a position on HR 3017, the Employment Discrimination Act of 2009.
Please contact him and ask him to support HR 3017 for job equality.
