Sen. John Ensign's attorney
acknowledged Thursday that the Nevada Republican's parents paid nearly $100,000 to the family of his mistress after she and her husband left his staff in April 2008.
In a statement from Paul Coggins, Ensign's attorney, said that the senator gave Doug Hampton, Cindy Hampton and their two children gifts
worth $96,000 and that "each gift was limited to $12,000."
This is in addition to the $25,000, not including it.
Today of course, Senator Coburn stated that he would not disclose his discussions with Senator Ensign under double secret privilege conferred by acting as both a physician and a pastor to Ensign. He even won't answer questions from the ethics committee.
The kicker for me is that Ensign's PARENTS coughed up the money. That must of been quite the conversation.
It never ends.
Update:
Deep thought: If Coburn is claiming doctor/patient confidentiality with Ensign, and Coburn's specialty is as an OB/GYN, does this make you want to titter?
