This diary is inspired by an article from the Bismarck Tribune http://www.bismarcktribune.com/...
Well it seems that recently the National Republican Senatorial Committee has just released an internal poll for the 2010 Senate race against current Democratic Senator Byron Dorgan and that as of now Republican Gov. John Hoeven is polling 17 points ahead of Dorgan.
Honestly I'm not sure on what to make of this poll personally. Because besides this poll the NRSC also polled the popularity of Hoeven and Dorgan and as of now Dorgan has a 69% favorability rating.
Also another conservative polling group about a month ago did the same poll but they didn't release the numbers which lead me to think that in their poll Hoeven didn't win and that they didn't want to release it. So this leads me to believe that this poll may be just bunk.
This poll may boost his ego but Hoeven will have to do a lot better than that to beat Dorgan because in the last few months Dorgan has been fund raising like made and will probably have 2 million in the bank pretty soon while last time I checked Hoeven had little over 70k in his chest.
I would like to see some real polls to see how close this race really is.
