Maybe it’s time for us to start our own campaign of fear and intimidation.
You know, like threatening members of Congress with votes.
We can make Blue Dog Democrats understand that they’re playing Russian roulette with their political careers. We can make them understand that if they vote for a plan that does not include a robust public option, that we will be coming after them in November 2010.
Oh, sure, we can't come after every one of them, but we can pick our targets.
And, just to remind those Blue Dogs still Unclear On The Concept, while the insurance companies might mobilize low-information citizens who'll come out and scream at a townhall meeting, here's what it looks like when we mobilize people:
So, Mr. or Ms. Blue Dog, let me make this simple:
Insurance companies don’t vote. They don’t even buy votes – except for yours.
We don’t have the insurance companies’ money. We can’t afford to come after every one of the Blue Dogs – but we can come after you.
And we will.
Have a nice term.
