I came across a poll about the public option linked from an MSNBC.com story.
I figured I'd go in there and vote for the public option.
Imagine my surprise when I saw the wording of the "not sure" choice.
Yes. Having a government plan to compete with private insurance is a great way to keep costs competitive.
No. A public option will end up being subsidized by the taxpayers and will be able to unfairly compete with private plans.
I don’t know. But it bothers me that one minute the president’s defending the option, and the next, he says it’s not central to the overhaul. What’s more important -- gaining political support or creating the best plan?
What kind of bulls**t is that? I realize online polls are worthless anyway. There is no scientific basis for their accuracy. But really, including a slap at the president while asking a question?
I don't mind criticizing the president for not strongly defending the public option, but that has no place in a poll question.
BTW: Surprisingly, the public option is winning handily. But please go in there and add your vote. Let's see if we can get the percentage up past 80. Here's the link: Newsvine poll
