Seriously, race-baiters. Get a clue.
We learn from the LA Times that the "Joker" poster was created by a young Chicago resident of Palestinian descent who was a Dennis Kucinich follower during the 2008 primaries. I recently wrote a piece about this subject, but now that my opinion is bolstered by new facts, I'm revisiting it.
The writer of that race-baiting, moronic, contrived Washington Post piece accusing whoever created this poster of racism must feel very stupid as we speak. Not that his argument had any substance in the first place.
Phillip Kennicot, who coined the WAPO article, wondered why the creator of the item in question remained anonymous. The genius could not fathom that maybe, just maybe, this man was afraid of being sued for copyright infringement, as he told the LA Times, or that he did not want to be linked to the distorted socialism label subsequently attached by someone else.
This young, educated liberal man explained that his goal was no more than fucking with Photoshop.
First of all, when we think of "racist" an urban minority liberal doesn't immediately pop into our heads. Secondly, the word "socialism" was attached by a separate, random person who saw the "jokerized" photo in Flickr.
As to why conservatives made the retouched photo go viral, it did not occur to this and other race-baiters that they wanted to undermine the President they hate by simply calling him "socialist."
Two more points:
1-) Whiteface is a term so unrelated to racism that I have never in my life seen it used as a racist tactic. Racists do not paint black people's face white in order to make a statement.
2-) The Joker's face is not "whiteface," (whatever that means) It's white and red.
3-) Never in the history of humanity did anyone ever associate the Joker with racism, before this fake-outrage moment.
