I am not scared. I am furious.
I am not worried or concerned or tempted to ask, "What has happened to my country?" No, I understand the American culture.
I believe the stability of America is at risk.
I wish I could treat the subject as thoroughly as possible, but unfortunately, I only have a blog. I can only state my simple opinion. I will state it without sources or links or any of the things that can be analyzed for rationality or credibility. I will express my feelings.
I believe the stability of America is at risk because too much power of expression has fallen to those that would lie. Journalism in this country has been radically altered. It is now much more difficult to find the truth expressed. When it is, sarcasm is the rule. For we cannot accept the realities without a grain of comedy.
I think we are in danger because ignorance is standard. I have met too many educated, seemingly intelligent people that believe 35% taxation at the highest margin is immoral, or that the Internal Revenue Service should be eliminated, to continue to believe there is hope for everyone. Ignorance accompanied by closed-mindedness is extremely dangerous, as radical ideas can take seed and grow into blooming violence.
Undoubtedly, there are people that honestly believe a black man should not be President of the United States. These people should be given no platform; they should be mocked at every turn. And yet, the republican party refuses to call out their racist constituents, and, instead, they continue to play to their base. Racism has no place in America.
I am not willing to concede what I have come to love. I love America. I love this country because I was instilled with its values: liberty, justice, freedom. I will not condone lies that impugn those values.
And so, I am someone that the right-wing should fear. I am educated. I have my voice. I know that I am right, both rationally and morally. I will never stop refuting ignorance. I will never stop calling out lies.
I am an American. I will stabilize this country.
