yes, i know its only 1% of their members, but to a group like AARP which has been on and off the fence over and over about real healthcare reform in the last few decades, its important to them. They only recently, this week, got on the reform bandwagon you know...
So those of you who dont know what im talking about follow me over the fold:
A Small But Still Troubling Exodus
It looks like the right-wing push to get senior citizens to leave the AARP because the organization supports much of Obama's plan for health care reform (I wrote about this last week) is having an effect: Between 50,000 and 60,000 members have bolted since July 1. That's less than 1 percent of all AARP members, but still not a number to sneeze at--especially because so many of the fleeing members have acted on misinformation about reduced quality of care and government-imposed euthanasia.

FOX, conservative blogs, Lou Dobbs, and CNN are acting as if there is a huge revolt. 60,000 members sounds like a huge number, and its probably causing more to follow, or at least give a bad name.
