Laughter
In the battle for meaningful health care reform it is important to remember Mark Twain

Contemplation
One question that comes up repeatedly from the right is how to pay for universal health care. Unlike many of their concerns, this is quite valid, Bush drove the American car right into a wall of debt! Here is one potential solution.
Real Tort Reform...hear me out. Punitive damages in court cases cannot be limited without giving wrongdoers, who can be incredibly wealthy, free rein. But why can't we make punitive damages payable to the government? This would give the government incentive to prosecute corporations and others who harm the public while at the same time preventing frivolous claims such as those asserted by these two
Hope
As we struggle for a health care right that has already been granted in most of the first world, we seem to be facing resurgent facism that threatens to drag us down to a third world status. But Der Spiegel, (The Mirror in English) a German news magazine has an article that shows Germany, once the dread of the world, is now shining a light of hope for all. German aid workers have begun a basic income program in a Namibian village.
The idea is simple: The payment of a basic monthly income, funded with tax revenues, of 100 Namibia dollars, or about €9 ($13), for each citizen. There are no conditions, and nothing is expected in return. The money comes from various organizations, including AIDS foundations, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and Protestant churches in Germany's Rhineland and Westphalia regions.
