Those who claim that the surge was a success but that U.S. troops withdrew too soon, I respond by saying that the entire U.S. war in Iraq was unnecessary and a mistake based on known false pretenses. That is why it cannot succeed. The surge only bought enough time for Bush to leave office and leave behind an unholy mess for someone else to clean up. The truth is that United States could not keep 166,000 troops in Iraq and fight the resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan too. Both U.S. wars - in Iraq and in Afghanistan - are ill considered and doomed to failure after long periods of bloodshed and enormous expense.
To put it another way, if the surge was such as success why is United States losing the war in Iraq? The warmongers will try to blame the peace movement, the press, Congress, and the current President for "losing Iraq". The bitter truth is this war was doomed to failure on Day One when then President George W. Bush ordered the U.S. invasion of Iraq under KNOWN FALSE PRETENSES. United States will not be able to move forward until former President Bush and his cronies are held accountable for their war crimes.
Americans who have supported and continue to support the U.S. war in Iraq are arrogant, ignorant IDIOTS who deserve to be handed a humiliating defeat.

BAGHDAD (AFP) – Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari on Saturday said Iraq will witness more deadly attacks in coming months because security is deteriorating due to collusion between security forces and insurgents.

"Enough of these over-optimistic remarks about security. There has been a deterioration in the security situation, this is a fact and the coming (violence) will be bigger," he said.
