The Eleventh Commandment is "Thou shalt not question Zionism on Dkos". The powers that be have determined that questioning Zionism is antisemitic. This in itself is ahistoric and unrealistic, given that there are Jews living in Israel who do not believe in Zionism.
Why do I care to write a diary about this? Because I am the target of an anonymous denunciation by fanatical pro-Zionists, resulting in a message window popping up on my Dkos screen this morning, which said "WARNING: you must not post antisemitic comments. Click the acknowledgment button to continue." Like a dutiful slave I clicked the button, desperate to stay on Dkos. But doing so implicated me in making a confession, that I agree with the policy which says questioning Zionism is antisemitic. I simply do not believe this. The Zionist lobby works ceaselessly to make it so, to inculcate guilt among the foolish American public, that questioning the premise of Zionism is antisemitic (i.e., against the Jews). AIPAC is notorious for this.
My whole adult life has been witness to an amazing deception in the mass media and among politicians, that the happiness of one people must come at the unhappiness of another people. Zionism sounds wonderful if there are no Arabs in the Middle East, but the past 60 years has given proof of what happens when theory is belied by practice, when lofty slogans about freedom for one people turn into ethnic cleansing (700,000 Palestinians kicked out in 1948 alone) and bulldozing of 400 Arab villages in Palestine. Just Google Dr. Benny Morris, the Israeli scholar, for the gory details.
Why is one state, Israel, allowed to conduct policies and actions to create an ethnically pure nation state, at the expense of another ethnic group? Why are Palestinians denied basic human rights, treated in the most beastly manner by the Israeli? Why is Israel called "democratic", when the Israeli rule 5,000,000 Arabs and control their lives, and yet these same Arabs have no say in their own submission? Hardly democratic.
As an American I am forced to hand over part of my wages every year to support this antidemocratic Zionist experiment (via taxation). I do not believe in Zionism. I do not believe in the disease of nationalism. I do not believe in imperialism. I am an American, and I simply do not need to believe in any of these religions or crudely discriminatory "-isms". It is my Constitutional right, defended by my ancestors on fields of battle going back to the Civil War.
The Dkos FAQ says not one word about antisemitic comments or what might constitute antisemitic thought. I guess it is left up to the whims of the powers that be.
