Oh yeah?
Not by all the metrics and polling data that I have read.
In fact, with all the negative, misinformation and straight up racist rhetoric coming from the Republican Party, I believe the public is a lot smarter than that one, Joe.
These antics that we are witnessing from organized insurance lobbyists is what Joe Scarborough is used to. That is how he got into the congress, by pushing lies and innuendos. That is what he knows, how to get into power, but the problem here is that what we are witnessing from these town halls and folks from the Republican Congress, GOP does not sit well with the American Public, in the end.
There is no doubt that President Obama and the Democrats have taken a hit on the health care issue, primarily by not having a bill to define, promote and explain to the public how it will benefit the average Joe and Josetta. This is clearly the Democrats fault and they are taking heat for it, but to suggest that the country wants a Republican Congress, PUHLEAZE with that bullshit.
These are the same jokers that ran the deficit up; spent over 10 billion a month on the Iraq War when it was not necessary for us to be there; took the spending of the Iraq War off the books for utter confusion as what was actually spent; gave billions of government money, taxpayer money to their cronies like Halliburton and Blackwater; was irresponsible in the response and treatment of Hurricane Katrina victims; ignored all the signals of the housing crisis, in fact it was Senator John Kerry who called out and schooled the Republicans on their lack of response of the housing market:
And we are to believe that the public want THESE FOLKS BACK IN CHARGE? Get the fuck outta here with THAT noise.
As the Obama and Democrats numbers are on a slide, let's be real here, the Republican Party's numbers have not improved. The general population knows that the Republican Party do not want any health care reform, hell where is there plan? And it was Congressman Michael Burgess (R-TX) who stated on television that the Republicans have a health care plan, but leadership does not want to reveal it? Oh, yeah? Are we supposed to believe this?
See, the angst with the Democrats is solely due to miscommunication from the White House and Democratic Leadership on the health care bill. It will be up to the White House and Democratic Leadership to bring clarity to all of this. And I do believe, if there is a public option in the bill, the numbers will rebound, once it is explained what health care reform means to the average Joe and Josetta.
Folks, like Joe Scarborough are not journalists, how can he be when he is on daily talking point mode from the GOP!!! As we see, from former CIGNA executive, Wendell Potter on Anderson Cooper of CNN:
And Joe Scarborough is not on talking points?
We may be angry at how the health care issue has been handled, but people in this country have not forgotten how the Republicans left this country in disarray when Obama took office. As long as the Republican's primary goal is to bring down President Obama by some of the most hateful, racist, out right "I don't give a shit what I say", rhetoric that we have witnessed, they will not be the majority party for a long time.
We are just not that stupid. At least I hope so.
