In an era where we don't really know our political leaders and can't really trust them when it comes to living up to their promises, it is important to remember the contributions that Ted Kennedy made prior to his death.
After an exhausting 3 days of remembrance, storytelling, laughter, respect and pure love being displayed for an American hero, I have come to learn more about Ted Kennedy than I ever knew existed. It is amazing to me that any man could achieve the extensive list of accomplishments while at the same time finding so many friends and family that adored him.
I also learned this weekend that his committee has released his version of health care reform. I have not read it but I can attest today based on everything that I know and have learned that I don't need to read it!
I would like to see this bill released as soon as the Senate returns from recess and then dare anyone to vote against it...including each and every Republican. There is no one that can present the accomplishments and credentials of Ted Kennedy. He may have left this earth but he left us with his version of the health care plan that he worked his life to implement. This bill should bear the name of Ted Kennedy because it was penned directly from him. Anything else would be fake imitation of what he would have wanted!
There is no doubt in my mind that Ted Kennedy wanted the best for the least of us and I would really like to see Republicans try and say different. The man lived his life and gave his life to this country and I am confident and trust his judgment more than anyone else I can think of today in regards to health care.
There would be no better tribute to the man than to pass his version of health care and have it bear his name.
Rest in peace Ted Kennedy! My prayer is that we as a nation have moved forward in our debate and have to come to respect your opinion and guidance.
