This diary is just an update to this story I read thru Josh Marshall on Friday night:
There's no shortage of news this Friday afternoon. But amidst the other stories we're trying to figure out is just what happened to Montana Rep. Denny Rehberg (R). He was in a boat last night with four other people, most but not all of whom have been identified, when there was what is being described as a "serious" accident -- a characterization the picture below would seem to validate.

In the boat were:
Denny Rehberg, Montana Rep (R)
Republican state Sen. Greg Barkus and his wife, Kathleen
Dustin Frost, Rehberg’s state director
Kristin Smith, Rehberg’s deputy chief of staff
Rehberg’s blood alcohol level was 0.05, below the legal limit, but he was not driving the boat. We still don't know what Barkus' level was at the time of the accident.
During the day before the boating accident Thursday night, Denny Rehberg was on the road. He headed to the Marina Cay Hotel in Bigfork. Senator Greg Barkus and his wife picked up Rehberg and his staff members on the boat. They headed to a dinner at the Docks Restaurant in Lakeside.
Rehberg had multiple broken bones in his left ankle and underwent surgery. He also suffered cuts, bruises and a fracture near his eye. He is in stable condition.
Rehberg's staff member, Dustin Frost, suffered major head trauma. Physicians have sedated Frost. We're told he has some brain damage and physicians aren't sure if he'll make a full recovery.
We're told staff member Kristin Smith is in stable condition and doing well. She also broke a bone in her ankle and has multiple cuts and bruises.

Still no word on how Barkus and his wife are. Prayers to all involved.
