Have a debate.
No more town halls. No more press conferences. No more rallys.
The message obviously isn't getting through, so it is time to set the record straight.
If we want to win the debate, we have to have a debate.
Up to now it has been just shouting. Republicans and uninformed people who don't want to actually research the truth (wait, is there a difference between the two?) are shouting out lies, while Dems are shouting back, playing watchdog to all the misinformation.
Town halls have a single speaker getting mobbed. It is time to set the record straight and have a debate.
Press conferences are one sided and vague. It it time to be specific in a debate.
Rallys just fire up the base. We need to inform undecideds about the truth WITH A DEBATE.
I would like to see our President challenge any Republican leader to a Health Care Debate to be televised. Each would get an opening statement, then questions would focus on all the fake bullcrap the GOP is using as talking points.
Now I know that won't happen, but why can't our local government leaders have such a debate? Or even local policy experts? Residents could attend the debate in a gynasium or something and see for themselves.
Folks, there is a reason that just a few months ago public support for a public option was 73% and now it is reportedly around 50%. It is because lies are being spread, and Dems are not being effective enough at stopping them.
It's time to have a debate.
