The tipoff: According to Rasmussen
According to Rasmussen,
Seventy-four percent (74%) of Republican voters say their party’s representatives in Congress have lost touch with GOP voters nationwide over the past several years.
Republican Voters Say GOP Reps in Congress Still Out of Touch
I expected a story about how GOP voters think the Congressional GOP is going off the deep end in the effort to rebuild the party. Reading on, I thought there must be typos... many typos
Most Republican voters (55%) say that the average Republican in Congress is more liberal than the average Republican voter. Twenty-four percent (24%) say the average Republican in Congress holds views about the same as the average Republican voter while just 17% think the Congressional Republicans are more conservative than GOP voters.
14% favor working with President Obama, while 84% of GOP identified respondents say GOPers in Congress must vote their beliefs, (their "liberal" beliefs?)
Reading this story was like walking into another reality... is it Rasmussen? Is it the GOP?
In a separate piece, they claim:
Partisan Trends: 37.3% of Americans Are Democrats, 32.6% Republican
Granted, it is Rasmussen, but it's not useful to hang out & declare that the GOP is dead.
What do you plan to do to make September better than August was? I'll be volunteering on HCR at my county Dem office.
It's time for the grown-ups to walk back into the room.
