Dianne Feinstein is 'considering a trigger to a public option'. Here is my very frustrated letter to someone who I thought was elected to represent me.
Dear Senator Feinstein;
I am told that you are supporting a trigger before a Public Option can be enacted.
Please let me know, How many more people must lose their health care before a trigger is enacted? Now it is only 14,000 people a day. How many more are necessary to trigger a public option? How many more insured people must go bankrupt from health care costs? Health care costs are now behind 60% of bankruptcies. How much higher must that percent go before a public option is triggered?
You have written me that you are concerned about the growth of entitlements. How many more entitlement services does a bankrupt family use than one that is secure and paying taxes? How many more expensive emergency room services does a family that has lost its health insurance use than one who is able to buy even a public option insurance policy?
I look forward to learning why you are even considering a 'trigger' for a public option rather than supporting a public option outright.
Sincerely,
