It's time for a useful reminder of the fact that 2 million people did actually travel to Washington to celebrate the Inauguration of Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States. On that day, the atmosphere was jovial, peaceful, and celebratory. 2 million people attended, and there was not one arrest. The only loud-mouthed protesters who showed at the event were Fred Phelps' band of thugs, who can usually be seen carrying "God Hates Your Tears" signs outside of the burials of United States military members who give the last full measure of devotion to this country. I know. I was there.
This is what two million patriots celebrating a historic achievement of their country looks like:
This is what twenty thousand or so people--and I'm being generous here--using 9-11 to cloak their extremist ideology looks like:
The massive failure of today's rally serves as just another reminder that barely 2 million people tune into Glenn Beck on a daily basis. I wonder when the media will stop with the "country is 50/50" nonsense. Pictures don't lie, and the pictures say that the public overwhelmingly supports President, and overwhelming loathes the band of extremists led by Mr. Beck.
It is a lonesome road indeed.
