I find myself amazed that this video disguised as journalism is actually getting traction. It seems clear to me that the video is totally bogus. I think this is a dirty trick, and it wouldn't surprise me to find out that the filmmakers paid the ACORN employees to act a certain way in order to prove their political point.
It's so hard for me to believe that any street-smart person would have bought these clowns' story. I'm supposed to believe that a white, college-grad / suburban-type guy fooled some folks from inner-city Baltimore into believing that he was a pimp? Who openly talked about prostitution and smuggling with people he didn't know? In front of one of his, er, women? Since when does a pimp consult with one of his employees on business tactics?
And he wanted to run for Congress someday? With apologies to Michael Kinsley, this story is an upper-middle-class white person's view of what street life is like. No way would that act have fooled real folks from the 'hood.
I mean, come on. Even the most brain-dead prostitute knows not to talk so openly about what it is that they do. Just check out your local craigslist page, or open a local alt-weekly's ad section...
And the fact that they brought up the Congressional part just kills me. No way in hell would somebody buy all of that foolishness, if it were real. Total, 100%, grade-A bullshit.
