I was at the Obama event at Target Center in Minneapolis. I got a press pass, and was "locked in" hours before the event started. The crowd was nuts. Hours before he arrived--the crowd was doing the wave.
There is a clear majority of people in America, that believe in this man, and what he wants to do.
As soon as it was over, I turned to the cameramen next to me and said : "That was a kick-ass campaign speech". And it was. And that's what it's going to take to pass health care reform.
Take a moment will you, to watch this speech?
Take a moment to email it to a friend.
I've assemble the whole thing on one page, so it's easy to get to the youtube videos of this event!
Obama, would speak after 12:15, but I was there at 9:00 a.m. and the crowds were already huge outside.
What rock band--was going to play later--U2, Madonna, Britney Spears?
Why it was the Potus band, Rock Start Obama to speak.
Well over an hour before he spoke, the crowd was already doing this :
After seeing this, I think, Minnesota would even vote for Obama again.
Now, this was such a rousing campaign speech, that I think you should look at it. It is at times logical and gives some details of his plan...
And at times, it is a full out campaign speech where he has to just pause for 30 seconds of crowd noise. It's not like he didn't know he had to, Obama works a crowd like few politicians can. He is at another level it seems at this, from any other national figure.
When the crowd saw on the jumbotron he'd arrived, it was hard to hear...
Here, is his entire speech. It builds, I think you should try and take the time to watch all of it. Set it aside right now, and look at it later. Send it to some friends.
I've been trying here in Minneapolis, to get things to happen with MoveOn.org. Anyway, I've been trying... and at times a little gloomy and disapointed... but I can say I needed this speech...
And I came out of it, "FIRED UP, READY TO GO". And I think this speech can do that for you too.
I wish all of you could have Obama visit your town, here's the next best thing.
Here in entirety, I looked at several versions, and liked this one over mine on youtube. (I'm aware, that MSNBC may want it down, and I will monitor and substitute as needed.)
(Two notes:
- I believe the future, is a hybrid between organizations LIKE MoveOn and Dailykos. MoveOn, excels at getting everyone to put their oars in the water on the same day...I've also built personal, sit-down and talk, relationships with a number of politicians in this state on both sides of the isle. Dailykos excels at passing memes at a rate MoveOn can't approach, but it is largely a bunch of fighting keyboards with almost no feet on the ground. I'm not saying these two entities should come together, but if two like them did--it would be more effective than either one. To that end, I will now inform you of significant things we do with MoveOn here in Minneapolis. I've learned a lot, from other activists around the country. We got an idea from Philly, we're going to use at our next rally. You don't have to live in Minneapolis to join MoveOn Minneapolis. You just have to want to communicate with us. We'll send you facebook emails 2-3 times a week, to let you know what we're doing. I personally, am going to work towards this hybrid entity idea. Here is our group : MoveOn Minneapolis facebook group
- Photographers note, I've been shooting video of interesting events here for MoveOn in town, and I stepped up to HD for this event. Unfortunately I hadn't gotten enough sleep for days, and as I hooked up my Sony HDR-CX100 and went to sleep. When I woke, I found the transfer had crashed, and the file with his speech is now corrupted. It plays beautifully from the camera but, it is now has these two problems, it is 40 minutes long, and is timestamped as ; 14 minutes?, and instead of a normal 2 gig HD file, it is now 2.12 gigs, and now software I have can't open it on either Mac or Windows platforms. This file crashed because I stupidly didn't plug in the camera and the battery died mid-transfer. If anyone has suggestions, I'd gladly take them at : craigstellmacher@yahoo.com. Or post below.)
I will try to keep this speech, and this page alive, and may substitute my HD when it is liberated. That way, you can see it again in the future, or send it to friends for inspiration.
I want everyone, to be :
FIRED UP!
READY TO GO!
