Just a quick note; NY Times is reporting here that Charlie "don't raise taxes on us rich people!" Gibson is being replaced by...wait for it...
Diane Sawyer. Blond Ambition herself. The ultimate personification of vapid, celebrity-driven faux-journalism.
Charlie Gibson was bad enough, with that folksy personality masking the iron heart of a plutocrat. Anyone else remember him during a debate repeatedly demanding that Obama take a solemn vow not to raise taxes on incomes of $300,000 per year because that was "middle class"?
But now we'll get Diane Sawyer, the perfect embodiment of form over content, style over substance. My first instinct is to say Tina Brown with a microphone, but that's an insult to Tina Brown. To my knowledge, Ms. Brown was never on the air falling down drunk.
And Ms. Brown was never photographed having Richard Nixon running his fingers through her hair, as Diane Sawyer was.
Makes me want to poke my mind's eye out with a fork.
