We've all been talking about what a hypocrite Sonny Perdue is along with all Georgian Republicans in general. They like to dis the federal government and federal programs and federal spending every chance they get. But when push comes to shove they can't take care of their own and have to run hats in hand to the federal government for help. But the real situation is probably worse than you know.
Something is seriously wrong with banking in the state of Georgia. Since the start of the year 146 banks have been taken over by the FDIC to the tune of who knows how many millions of dollars. Of those 146 a whopping 26 have been banks located in the little 'ole state of Georgia. Just take a look at the Failed Bank List The most recent - an Atlanta bank.
Compare that to the bank failures in much more populous states: New York 2, Florida 11, California 15.
Somewhere, somehow, the Georgia governor and legislature did something to screw up their banking system, relaxed the rules, relaxed oversight. Something. And now we are all having to pay for it.
The Georgia banking debacle is soomething that needs to be talked about more.
