Every viewpoint was on display, at the MN 06 Rep Michele Bachmann, TX 14 Ron Paul Rally.
The Plaza before the U of M's Northrop Auditorium was alive, with Patriots of all stripes, and with some very strong opinions too.
I shot video of the event, and offer it to you in several formats, from a pithy ten minutes of demonstrations on Youtube, to extended plays on blip tv where you can see the whole speeches from one player not 3-4 in ten minute increments on Youtube. I know we're all busy, so I offer the event to you a la carte. Their individual speeches, question period, and individual questions, are linked seperately for you to choose from.
Just click the Tv's below for the videos you'd like.
If you only watch one or two videos, I'd recommend Bipolar Zeitgeist and their answers to Socialism/Socialized Medicine, and Education.
But, if you feel like digging in, you can watch their entire speeches from just one dailykos page.
You might, if you pay attention to detail come away thinking that Ron Paul is a bit more radical than you previously thought.
Also, his strident positions against interventionism, war, and the Patriot Act--are those really previously shared by Rep Michele Bachmann?
I offer this event to you ala carte...you may choose the segment, or even individual question you would like :
- Bipolar Zeitgeist, demonstrations and counter demonstrations outside auditorium before the event. If you only watch one video--this might be the strongest.
- MN 06 Rep Michele Bachmann's 15 minute speech, plays as one file from bliptv.
- TX 14 Rep Ron Paul's 35 minute speech, plays from one file from bliptv.
- Written Questions answered, about 25 minutes of previously submitted questions. One file from blip.

The mood was strident on both sides, before the MN 06 Rep Michele Bachmann and TX 14 Rep Ron Paul Rally. It seemed, that the crowd was mainly his. I read several estimates, but I trusted the indifferent auditorium staff that admitted to me they just wanted to go home. They put the crowd at 2,000. On a Friday evening on the U of Minnesota campus, that's pretty good.
Beforehand, the young ernest Republicans I talked to inside, thought they were in the heart of the beast at the "liberal" U of M. That might be, but to me the crowd inside seemed to tilt towards Libertarian and Ron Paul.
Though you can see the entire hour beforhand, if you look up my bliptv channel, here is a pithy 10 minutes compiled before the Rally on the plaza outside, and in the lobby of the auditorium.
Above, is video from before the rally.
Below, is MN 06 Rep Michele Bachmann's entire speech, it lasts about 15:00 minutes, and highlights the deficit.
And here is TX 14 Rep Ron Paul's 1/2 hour long speech below, in it he would like to end the Fed, and Federal Income Tax.
You might start to think if you listen carefullly to their speeches and answers, that they didn't use to agree, and some of what they say is rather radical.
Health Care is not a right.
The Federal Government has no role in Education,
We don't need a Fed, or Federal Income Tax.
Here, is their entire 25 minute answer period, to written questions. Below that, are all the answers a la carte. Please note if you have time, their answers to Socialized Healthcare and Education.
