Alan Grayson did something this week that all of us have been waiting for: a clear rebuttal to all the rubbish spewed by the GOP. Best of all he beat them at their own game. He not only pointed out the obvious, but did so in a way that utterly put the mean-spirited heart of the GOP on display for everyone to see.
I don't know if this is a gamechanger, but it should be. His tone is pitch perfect--no more "accommodation" no more "playing nice". As diarist Max udargo pointed out in this eloquent and heartbreaking post pointed out: it's not a freakin' game.
He's also done more to properly frame the debate than anyone has so far. Indeed, whose side are people on, and how long can they defend the interests of a few insurers over the vast population of uninsured, underinsured, and tentatively insured.
One more thing: let Alan Grayson's colleagues see the reward of taking a tough and honest stand. He's past $70,000 already. Make that $70,000 + $50.
