I had a thought aborning early this morning.
The folks who are squealing like dying lambs over the horrors and terrors of the President for having the audacity to greet returning students fervently believe that this short greeting and exhortation to excellence is a conditioning exercise that will condition their progeny to act in some way to further Obama's agenda.
The irony meter is pegged on this one.
These are the mostly the same folks who insist that using the schools to proselytize their faith on a daily basis isn't a conditioning exercise - that the use of public facilities for prayer and worship on a routine basis is harmless as to the non-believer.
These are the same folks for whom any separation of church and state is anathema, and that religionists who use their public facility to advance their religion are entitled to do it as part of their 1st amendment rights.
And now, given a tradition across several administrations of Presidents addressing schoolchildren, they complain? What are theygoing to squeal about next, the Presidential Physical Fitness Awards?
ps - I did a title change. I thought it fit.
