Under the heading of Southern stereotypes, NASCAR would probably come close to the top. The sport was born in the South, and a majority of NASCAR venues remain in the South. If you watch a telecast of a NASCAR race or listen to the Sirius NASCAR channel, you'll hear a lot of Southern accents. And yeah, it's popular among the redneck section of the population.
It's probably fair to say that the sport is popular among those sectors of the population that intend to keep their kids home on Tuesday when the President seeks to indoctrinate their precious children into the vast left-wing conspiracy. (Full disclosure: I'm a NASCAR fan. And my kiddo is going to school Tuesday.)
So... it might come as a surprise to learn that... NASCAR is trying to indoctrinate your kids into the vast left-wing conspiracy!!
I ran across this video today. It was taped a couple weeks ago when the President welcomed 2008 Chase for the Sprint Cup drivers to the White House. It features five of NASCAR's biggest stars talking about the importance of staying in school and learning. And...
...it promotes the President's address to the nation's kids on Tuesday.
I wonder how many of the keep-your-kids-home-Tuesday people realize that Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards are feeding kids the EXACT SAME SOCIALIST COMMIE PROPAGANDA that the President will be shoving down kids' throats on Tuesday? How many of the keep-your-home-kids-Tuesday will take their #88 and #24 decals off of their pickup trucks? How long will it be before the birther conspiracy starts saying that since Juan Pablo Montoya is a Colombia native, that's just further proof that Obama isn't an American?
All I know is, I knew I liked NASCAR for a reason. Tony, Carl, Dale Jr., Juan Pablo, and Jeff just made me like NASCAR even more. I just hope this video is shown several times during Sunday night's Sprint Cup race!
