It's easy to be surprised by the notion that people wouldn't want the President of the United States to address young schoolchildren, telling them to study hard and get good grades. After all, and educated and diligent population seems like something you could build a nation on. But when you really think about it, there's plenty of reasons why Republicans don't want people telling kids to study hard. The list after the fold...
- If kid study hard, they might realize that the Nazis were responsible for killing 6M people systematically, and that Obama is trying to keep the Health Industry from being able to kill people systematically.
- If kids study hard, they might learn that waterboarding is illegal, and that an entire Republican-led Administration broke the law.
- If kids study hard, they might learn that humans evolved from primates.
- If kids study hard, they might learn that Obama was in fact born in the United States.
- If kids study hard, they might learn that Hate Radio is designed to control and manipulate the weak-minded.
- If kids study hard, they might learn that the Healthcare Bills out there don't, in fact, advocate death panels, at all.
- If kids study hard, they might learn that no, the Republicans are not negotiating in good faith.
- If kids study hard, they might learn that there were no weapons of mass destruction.
- If kids study hard, they might learn that we can't continue our oil-dependant lifestyle, and that alternative sources of energy are required for the future.
- If kids study hard, they might not believe the Republican lies.
So as you can see, a simple message of "study hard, and get good grades" does, in fact, endanger the Republican party. If kids study hard and grow up to get a good, sound education, the Republican Base will dry up! So I can understand why they might be up in arms about this...
