Dear Repubs:
I heard you didn't want your children to watch the President give a speech on working hard and taking responsibility for their education. At first blush I just thought that having a black guy lecture your kids on hard work is too much of a shock for your antebellum system, but later I learned that it was only because you were afraid that your children would be indoctrinated on President Obama, and his top-secret socialist agenda.
Well guess what...if your kids are in public school they're already living that agenda. You see, public schools are funded by our tax dollars. Let's take me for instance. I'm a single guy in my mid-twenties, who makes a good living and pays a substantial amount in taxes. I don't have any kids. I don't know if I ever will. But part of my tax bill goes to the public schools in my state. We'll call it "spreading the wealth".
More after the fold...
And yes...I know I did attend public schools as a child, so I guess you could say that I'm paying society back for what it provided me as a child. But isn't that the whole crux of progressive taxation itself (read Socialism), that those who benefit the most from society pay a little bit more?
So, instead of just skipping Socialism Day at school next week, just take your children out completely. Foot the bill for a nice private school, and as you write that check with all those 0s on it, remember that you're doing your part to save America.
And while you're at it, go ahead and opt out of police protection, the fire department, Medicare, Social Security, public transportation, state and interstate highway systems, and about a million other Socialist programs offered in these United States.
Or perhaps, you should just move.
