"By their fruits you shall know them"
Can People who claim to want to starve their country until they can drown it in the bathtub really be said to "love" their country?
Sure, we'd all prefer to take home more money in our paycheck, but do we really want to take home a tiny bit more money if it means that our schools and libraries will have to close, police and firemen will have to be laid off, and our highways will fill with potholes until they are unsafe to drive?
Certainly those who sacrifice their lives in time of war are patriotic heroes, but what about those who, having been born in this land of opportunity, are now happy to give some of what they earned back so that others may enjoy the same blessings and opportunities that they did? Isn't that more patriotic than wanting to cut taxes?
We hear Tea Partiers saying that they earned their money and now they want to keep it. Perhaps these "Self Made" people should consider how much of their success is due to having been born in the United States of America.
Can any of them say (with a straight face) that they would have been as successful had they been born into poor families in Ethiopia or Afghanistan? Tea Partiers have received blessings that were provided by previous generations of Americans who were willing to do their part to help build the country up and make it strong, and now the Tea Partiers want to suck the lifeblood of the country away like vampires in a horror movie.
The sad part is that those who will be most hurt by this greedy selfish Mammon worship are the children and grandchildren who will not have the opportunities that all of us were blessed to have had.
