I'd say logic seems to escape Republicans, but it seems to escape many on every side. Take the 'Ground Zero" Mosque issue for example. The circular argument against it is a case in sheer stupidity.
So why don't we show it that way?
I'll do it for you:
First Republican's and Right Wing No Nothings argued that
A. No Mosque built at Ground Zero is acceptable to real Americans. (Nevermind for now that it's a Community Center and not just a Mosque.)
When it became known the Mosque was to be built 2 blocks away, they argued:
B. No Mosque built 2 blocks away from ground zero is acceptable because that is still an affront to all the lives lost on 9-11.
(Never mind that Muslims who worship in Mosques also died in the collapsing towers.)
When this did not seem to have the same call for alarm that "At Ground Zero!" had, they fudged definitions of Ground Zero to meet their needs:
C. Debree from the towers collapsing landed on the site of the new Mosque, therefore it is still "Ground Zero" and we cannot have a Mosque built at ground zero out of respect for the dead.
There are many issues with this line of reasoning (besides the fact that "ground zero" means the point of impact) but there is one big, giant, elephant-in-the-room-size flaw, with this school yard logic :
There is already a Mosque just 4 blocks from where the twin towers stood.
And here is where the Mainstream Media seems to blindly copy down the dictation of Right Wing talking points and miss the blatant conundrum presented by the Republican's argument and the simple existence of this Mosque:
If "Ground Zero" includes places the rubble fell, then the existing Mosque 4 blocks away, is already at "Ground Zero" since dust and debree extended for several blocks.
If "Ground Zero" extends only 2 blocks away, then the existing Mosque is already still just 2 blocks away from Ground Zero!
Once again it seems Republicans have argued themselves into a corner from which the only escape is to redefine the corner as a throne.
Now riddle me this, cheeto crusaders...
On what merits does the argument stand, that we cannot have a Mosque built at or 2 blocks from "Ground Zero" when there already is a Mosque at or 2 blocks from "Ground Zero?"
..... and why does no one drive this fact home over and over on the "Liberal" media?
...... hello? ..... is this mic on?
