Hey I'm not the only one celebrating a birthday here. On January 20th Got a Happy Story will be turning five. I'm getting old but not quite as worn down as this community diary. Unless someone else is interested in taking over here, there won't be an Fifth Anniversary Edition of Got a Happy Story?
Since my 35th birthday I've been working to insure that a few hours from now would mark a 365 day countdown to retirement. I don't know why I had the forethought to realize I'd never make it to 65 but I did and I worked so hard for that goal. Now I'm having some trouble putting together anything like a happy story on this depressing birthday, a government induced depression on yet another occasion of coming up on the short end of the stick in class warfare.
While giving up too much of what life had to offer so I could save for that early retirement I watched the medical insurance payments become a larger and larger portion of my union's early retirement pension. So I just saved more because I can't do the labor anymore.
Now this so called excise tax removes even that option. So now that the government has finally figured out a way to address a "tax subsidy" I'm all out of happy. Do you want to take over Got a Happy Story?
