if instead of speaking about a Black guy, Harry Reid had been talking about a Jewish guy, and had been reported to have said the following.
Reid privately stated that he believed Mr. Goldman was a good candidate because he is a "straight nosed" Jewish American "with no Yidish dialect, unless he wanted to have one."
I think most would agree that those words would be totally offensive, my question is how is it not the EXACT same thing when applied to a Black guy, and why are so called liberals defending it?
forget the fact that saying "Negro dialect" directly implies that all Black people speak the same, and that in America, its a good thing to not speak like a negro (whatever the fuck that means) if you want to get elected POTUS. What Harry Reid said was offensive because it implies that if you're Black and you want to be successful, then you should act more White (whatever the fuck that means).
The idea that what he said was true so, it makes it OK is absurd, by saying it in the first place Reid feeds into the perception, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, and orthodoxy that never gets questioned. Reid wasnt questioning why our society is the way it is, he was perpetuating the current beliefs of our society.
