I used to think they were one of the good guys and perhaps they were once upon a time. Not anymore.
This one REALLY bothers me. Specifically because the stakes are so high on this one. This is real life and death here. Not something to play "who can grab the most attention with negative spin".
By now I HOPE you all know about the poll that came out the other day that shows things are improving in Afghanistan. At least the Afghans think so and that is really the most important part which until now has been missing. Hearts and minds and all that.
Take a look at this video. Sorry but can't embedded.

Take a look at this graph from that poll. Again, can't get it to embedded.

Here is the whole poll with all the details.

Now, what exactly happened at the beginning of 2009 to cause that sharp turn around....hmmmm can't think of anything......pfffft! Does the media care. Hell no!
Nobody in the US MSM picked this story up. It was just so darn optimistic and from credible sources none the less. We can't have that.......pfffft! Sure, it showed up on page 6 or in the case of HuffingtonPost down at the bottom of some page for a couple hours. About the only place I saw it was on the Racheal Maddow show yesterday. Even she didn't spend much time on it. Half way through the show and only for a minute or so.
So today this 'Journalist' at HuffingtonPost found some obscure sources that figured out a way to put a negative spin on it and just ran with that. Suddenly it's REAL news. It has been at the top of the HuffingtonPost page all day.

This is such bullshit! Flat out bullshit. Create negative spin and scream it from the mountaintops. Sweep the optimistic stuff under the rug. Hey Ryan Grim, I hope you are proud of your career as a pessimism spinning hack!
