Our story begins in Ancient Greece with the tale of Prometheus. Prometheus was the Titan God of forethought. He was a God that always planned for the future and toughed of new ways to better the lives of mankind. Prometheus unlike the Olympian Gods walked among mankind and felt sorry for their suffering. Without the element of fire mankind could not warm themselves or cook food.
Prometheus stole the element of fire from the God Zeus (lord of the heavens an ruler of all the Gods) and gave it to mankind. Before Zeus punished Prometheus he ordered Hephaestus God of the Craftsmanship to mould a beautiful woman out of clay and for the other Gods to give her a gift. Zeus than gave the women the name Pandora.
Pandora was send from the heavens to the earth carrying in her hands a pithos (jar), containing all the evils of the world. Zeus instructed Pandora not to open the jar, but out of curiosity she opened the lid off the jar to take a peek. In that moment she unleashed all the evils and diseases upon the world. Horrified at what happened, see saw one single beautiful shimmer in the jar called hope.
